A really nice atmosphere and a beautiful and varied route. It was hot this year though! I wonder if a cooler month would be safer for future years.

Fantastic Event

Really enjoyed this run, it started out as trying to beat a train but after starting off and running through the fabulous scenery and little villages it became less about the time and just more about enjoying it as a run. As it happens the train was pulling upto the station just as I got on the final stretch, race back on and beat it in with around 20 secs to spare!! I’ll be back next year to have enough time to film it coming into the station.

How much fun is it to race a train?

I did this race a few years back. I didn't beat the train, but I was side by side with it a few times. Just missed out. I had to come back and have another go.

Super fun event! Mixed terrain! Great atmosphere! It feels like a missing scene from Stand By Me... Hearing that steam whistle in the background while you're gasping for air. Funny!
A great introduction to trail running if you're a beginner, or a juicy little challenge if you've got a few miles under your belt.

You could train for another 10K around the park... boring. Or you could train to go a little further and race an actual steam train.

Choo choo! (Pun fully intended

Awesome event & different

Would highly recommend this to other people as it’s a great organised event. You get a good friendly atmosphere vibe. Take you along some great scenery and different terrains. You don’t have to be an over experienced runner just go and enjoy the day even if you don’t beat the train it’s all about the journey. 5 stars

Hotter than the footplate of the train we were racing !

Despite the hot weather - yet another great run out. Well marshalled , extra water station were definitely needed. The sponges provided at the midpoint were a good idea & really a god send ! Despite the colour of the water after 200 other runners had used them I didn't care #melting

If you want to try a trail race, this is for you ❤️

Fab event, well organised, great marshalling, easy to run solo or as a group. Plenty of water stations. Amazing scenery and perfect for a first timer to trail running like me. I love a medal too and you get a lovely medal
