NEW YEAR – NEW YOU CHALLENGES – TERMS & CONDITIONS

1. Event Organiser

The New Year 5K Virtual Challenge ("the Event") is organised by Trail Blazing Events ("the Organiser").

By entering the Event, participants agree to be bound by these Terms & Conditions.

2. Event Period

The Event takes place from 00:05 on 1st January 2027 until 23:55 on 31st January 2027.

All activities submitted must be completed within this period to be eligible.

3. Eligibility

• The Event is open to participants of all abilities.
• Participants may choose to run, jog, or walk the 5K distance.
• Participants under the age of 18 must have permission from a parent or legal guardian.
• Entry is limited to 100 participants.

4. Completing the Challenge

• Participants must complete the minimum distance required for the challenge.
• The challenge may be completed outdoors or on a treadmill.
• Participants are only allowed to upload one submission per entry during January 2027.

5. Evidence Requirements

• All participants must submit evidence of completion using the official submission process provided by Trail Blazing Events.
• Acceptable evidence may include, but is not limited to:
  • GPS watch data
  • Fitness app screenshots
  • Treadmill display photographs
  • Activity tracking platform records
• Submitted evidence must clearly show the completed distance and date of completion.
• Trail Blazing Events reserves the right to request additional or alternative evidence at any time to verify a participant's submission.
• Failure to provide requested evidence within the timeframe specified by the Organiser may result in the submission being rejected.
• Any incomplete, altered, misleading, fraudulent, or unverifiable submissions may be disqualified.
• The Organiser's decision regarding the validity of submitted evidence is final.
• Trail Blazing Events reserves the right to investigate any submission that appears inaccurate, manipulated, or inconsistent with the spirit of the event. Any participant found to have deliberately submitted false information may be disqualified from the event and future Trail Blazing Events events without refund.

6. Finisher Recognition

Participants who successfully complete the challenge and provide valid evidence within the event period will be eligible to receive the advertised event memento and be entered into the relevant prize categories.

7. Prize Categories

Prizes will be awarded for:

• 1st Female
• 1st Male
• Oldest Female
• Oldest Male
• Youngest Female
• Youngest Male

The Organiser reserves the right to request proof of age where required for prize verification.

All prize decisions are final and dependant on entries, prizes may be reduced due to insufficient numbers.

8. Spot Prizes

• Random spot prizes may be awarded to eligible finishers.
• Spot prize winners will be selected entirely at random.
• Participants will not receive advance notification of spot prize draws.
• Trail Blazing Events reserves the right to substitute prizes with alternatives of equal value if circumstances require.

9. Health & Safety

• Participants enter and take part entirely at their own risk.
• Participants are responsible for ensuring they are medically fit and capable of completing the challenge.
• If in any doubt regarding their health, participants should seek medical advice before taking part.
• Participants must exercise due care and attention when completing their activity and comply with all applicable laws, regulations, road safety rules, and local guidance.
• Participants are responsible for selecting a safe route, location, and environment in which to complete the challenge.
• Trail Blazing Events accepts no responsibility for accidents, injuries, illness, loss, damage, death, or any other incident arising from participation in the Event.

10. Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law:

• Trail Blazing Events shall not be liable for any injury, loss, damage, expense, claim, or liability arising directly or indirectly from participation in the Event.
• Trail Blazing Events shall not be responsible for technical issues, lost submissions, internet failures, tracking errors, or any circumstances beyond its reasonable control.

11. Postage & Delivery

• UK Postage & Packaging: £3.95
• Overseas Postage: £4.95

International participants may be subject to customs charges, import duties, taxes, or other fees imposed by their country. Any such charges are the sole responsibility of the participant.

Trail Blazing Events accepts no responsibility for customs delays, import fees, or charges incurred after dispatch.

12. Event Changes

Trail Blazing Events reserves the right to amend, postpone, suspend, or cancel the Event if circumstances beyond its control make it necessary to do so.

13. Refunds

Unless otherwise required by law, entry fees are non-refundable and non-transferable once an entry has been purchased.

14. Data Protection

By entering the Event, participants consent to Trail Blazing Events collecting and processing personal information for the purposes of administering the Event, verifying results, issuing prizes, and fulfilling event-related communications.

Participant information will be handled in accordance with applicable data protection legislation.

15. Photography & Publicity

By accepting a prize, participants agree that Trail Blazing Events may use their name, age category, result, and submitted photographs for promotional purposes without additional compensation, unless prohibited by law.

16. Acceptance of Terms

Submission of an entry constitutes full acceptance of these Terms & Conditions.

Trail Blazing Events reserves the right to amend these Terms & Conditions at any time where reasonably necessary.
